Gunstock Freestyle Association is a non-profit seasonal coaching program for freestyle skiers and snowboarders ages 7-17 based at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH.
We train in small groups while also working individually with each rider establishing a detailed plan to help each athlete achieve their specific goals. Through professional analysis and proper coaching, combined with a positive learning environment, we leave each rider satisfied with their progress, while ensuring they had a great time in the process. Last season we had 7 coaches on staff with almost 40 members from NH, MA, and ME. with 11 GFA athletes qualify for USASA National Championships held at Copper Mt, CO.

The History of GFA
The original version of GFA started around 2002, back when Steve Lee (Head Coach) was working for Gunstock as the Terrain Park Manager. It started as lessons available through the resort’s Learning Program, but it was quickly discovered a more goal-minded season-long program was desired. Steve, along with several parents in the area, created a non-profit entity that offered seasonal coaching with a focus towards competition. In 2007, the program was reborn as the Gunstock Freestyle Academy with Coach Steve and only 7 skiers and snowboarders on the team. Since then, we have become the fastest growing of the 5 Gunstock affiliate programs. We currently have 8 coaches and 40+ members per season. Last year, 11 GFA athletes qualified for USASA Nationals held at Copper Mountain, CO. with multiple podium winners! Now entering a new phase and renamed as the Gunstock Freestyle Association, we are preparing for continued growth and expansions to our offered programs, like the addition of our Boarder/Skier Cross training team and the current development of a media training program for young photographers and videographers.
